Low Tide: 1.4m (0949)
Bait: Black lugworm (a few days old!)
Rig: 2 Rods, 1up/1down Flapper Rig
Fish Landed: 0
Started fishing at low-water just up from Rossall Hospital - had to cross a gully or two to get to the shore, which was very far out with it being such a low tide. Then got the rods set up and casted out into a nearby channel. The wind was quite strong and almost straight down the beach, it was a nightmare trying to keep the lines tight without the weight rolling away. I was also using my new tripod, but must remember not to use the £11.99 eBay lightweight tripod again in strong winds as it was murder trying to keep it upright without tipping over. Having said that I was lucky that the forecast rain held off until I was on my way back. Had what appeared to be a few bites but judging by the weed on the wind-in, I’d probably hit a bed of weed.
Sea started to come in quite quickly so kept moving back but then I had to leg it back quick over another channel that was coming in behind me. Tried for another 45 mins from the shore, again using the black lugworm, but together with the swell and crappy lightweight tripod falling over all the time, resulted in no fish again. Packed up and decided to come home, luckily just avoided the rain coming in.
